  • It depends on your personal preferences regarding weather and crowd levels. Here's a breakdown:

Dry Season (June to October): Similar to safaris, the dry season is ideal for climbing Kilimanjaro due to clear skies and minimal rainfall.

Shoulder Seasons (December to March and June to October): There are decent climbing conditions with fewer crowds. However, temperatures can be colder and there is a possibility of encountering rain or snow at higher elevations.

  • If you require supplemental oxygen for your summit hike, you can purchase it for an additional charge in nearby stores before the start of the hike. These stores also offer other rental equipment such as thermal clothing if needed.

  • It really depends on your preferences. Here's a breakdown:

Dry Season (June to October): The dry season is often regarded as the best time for safaris due to the dry weather. Animals tend to gather around water sources, making sightings rather frequent. The spares vegetation during this time enhances visibility.

Great Migration (July to September): Millions of wildebeest and zebras cross the Serengeti in search of greener pastures. This is just unparalleled.

Shoulder Seasons (December to March; June to October): These transitional periods offer a mix of good weather and fewer visitor numbers.

Zanzibar

  • Currently, we've curated three distinct Zanzibar tour packages for you to explore. However, we're all about catering to your preferences. If none of these fit the bill or if you have specific requests in mind, we're more than happy to create a custom tour just for you.

  • No, flights to Tanzania or Zanzibar are not included in the tour package. Since travel dates can vary and to offer flexibility, we don't include these flights. Similar to the flight arrangements to arrive in Tanzania, we recommend guests make their own flight bookings to Zanzibar to match their preferred schedule and travel arrangements. This way, you can customize your travel to best suit your needs and preferences.

Food, Health, and Visa

  • We're more than happy to accommodate special dietary needs during the trip. For instance, if you prefer a vegetarian diet or have specific dietary requirements, just give us a heads-up before the trip. This way, we can make all the necessary arrangements.

  • When considering health precautions for your trip to Tanzania, it's smart to chat with your healthcare provider. Check out the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines for Tanzania too. They cover malaria advice based on your needs and where you'll visit. Don't forget bug spray and protective clothes in malaria areas. And make sure you're vaccinated for yellow fever as required for entry into Tanzania!

  • Tanzania typically requires U.S. citizens to obtain a tourist visa. This can often be obtained upon arrival at the airport or in advance through the Tanzanian Embassy or online application. Visa regulations for Tanzania can vary based on nationality.

  • Tanzania is generally considered safe, but like any destination, it's essential to take precautions and stay informed. For up-to-date travel advisories and resources, you can refer to the U.S. Department of State website, which provides current information on safety and security concerns.
